Post Installed Rebars.
Installation Procedure for Ripple R fix / V Fix
The fitness for use of the post-installed rebar with Ripple R Fix/ Ripple V Fix can only be assumed if the rebar is installed as follows:
- The installation of post-installed rebar with Ripple R Fix/ Ripple V Fix shall be done only by suitable trained installer and under supervision on site; the conditions under which an installer may be considered as suitable trained and the conditions for supervision on site are up to the member States in which the installation is done.
- Use of the Ripple R Fix/ Ripple V Fix with its accessories such as Static Mixer, Extension Pipe & Dispenser Gun only as supplied by the manufacturer without exchanging the accessories of the system. Use of wrong Dispenser or Static Mixer could impair the Quality of Mixed Mortar which may get damaged.
- Installation in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications and drawings using the tools indicated in the technical documentation as in the European Technical Assessment.
- Check before rebar installation to ensure that the strength class of the concrete in which the rebar is to be placed is in the range given and is not lower than that of the concrete to which the characteristic loads apply.
- Check of concrete being well compacted. e.g., without significant voids, honeycombs, bleeding.
- Check the position of the existing rebar (if the position of existing rebar is not known. it shall be determined using a rebar detector suitable for this purpose as well as on the basis of the construction documentation and then marked on the building component for the overlap joint).
- Maintain the anchorage depth as specified in the design drawings.
- Manage the concrete cover and spacing as specified in the design drawings.
- Positioning of the drill holes without damaging the reinforcement.
- In case of aborted drill hole, the drill hole shall be filled with cement grout.
- The drilling and cleaning of the hole and the installation shall be performed only with the equipment specified by the manufacturer according to the manufacturer's installation instructions. it shall be ensured that this equipment is available on site and it is used.
- The Resin Cartridges should be stored in a cool, dry place maintaining the temperature <25°C. Never expose or leave the Cartridges in an open sunlight. Use the Cartridges with Cartridge temperature of around 25°C which gives a very comfortable gel time.
- Application of Chemical Anchors will be best at early hours of the Day where the substrate temperature as well as ambient temperatures are well under 30°C.
- Take Ripple R Fix/ Ripple V Fix brochure and select the appropriate specifications and installation parameters from the brochure with rebar that is to be installed.
- Drill holes according to the diameter of the hole specified in the Ripple R Fix/ Ripple V Fix brochure (The diameter values are specified in the Ripple R Fix/ Ripple V Fix brochure).
- The depth of the hole drilled for rebar should be according to the Effective embedment depth given in the design report given by Ripple Technical Team.
- The drilling procedure can be done with Hammer drilled machine, Compressed Air Drilled machine or Diamond Drilling method depending on the hole depth and reinforcement present inside the existing structure.
- Never clean the hole as soon as you drill the hole, always drill the hole just before grouting the chemical into the hole.
- Clean the hole with Manual Blow pump or Electric Blower or Vaccum pump to clean the hole initially.
- Clean the hole with wire brush and then again use Manual Blow Pump or Electric Blower or Vacuum Pump.
- Repeat this process for at least 4 times until no fumes of air dust is visible to naked eye outside the hole.
- If the hole is deep, use pressurized water jet initially to clean all the dust particles and use Wet Vacuum pump to remove the standing water.
- Ripple R Fix can also be used in Wet and Water filled hole condition.
- Use all the accessories supplied and fix the cartridge to the Dispenser gun and then the static mixer to the cartridge.
- Dispense 2 to 3 trigger pulls of Chemical outside to ensure uniform mixing of chemical from the static mixer of the Chemical.
- Use extension pipes if the embedment depth is deep.
- Fill the chemical into hole from bottom of the hole to its top filling to 2/3rd of the hole depth.
- Insert the rebar into the hole and rotate it in clock wise direction till it reaches to the required Embedment depth with in the specified gelling time according to temperature of base material mentioned in the Brochure.
- This gelling time indicates the minimum time that is required for installing the rebar/ threaded rod in to the hole where the chemical is filled.
- The anchor now following above steps gets properly installed and the load can be applied after curing time.
- If the anchor gets failed for any other procedures other than specified by Ripple Technical Team, Ripple India is not responsible for the same.
